SEMO carries a four-match winning streak to Carbondale, its longest since 2014.
"SIU has a solid team and it will take a full team effort on our part," said head coach
Mary Beth Gunn. "We are really starting to play together as a team, and everybody has done a great job focusing on what we need to do during the match instead of focusing on the outcome. This has really helped us overcome some hurdles, and we are hoping to continue our success Friday."
The Redhawks are having a strong season thus far, collecting 39 total wins and a .629 winning percentage.
Oleksandra Doroshenko earned Ohio Valley Conference honors this week after going a perfect 4-0 a week ago. She currently leads the team with a 6-1 record in singles play and 5-2 record in doubles.
The Salukis are lead by junior Xiwei Cai who has five total wins for the season. Dorshenko and Cai will face off at the No. 2 position.
