SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri (5-2) closed its weekend with a 7-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-5) Saturday.
"The team took care care of business today and had a high focus throughout the match," said head coach
Mary Beth Gunn. "We served very well today."
In doubles play,
Isabella Krupa and
Oleksandra Doroshenko collected their fifth win at the top of the lineup shutting out the Golden Lions top tandem, 6-0.
Mila Majtan and
Ana Canahuate-Torres moved up to the No. 2 position for the match and knocked off their opponents, 6-1.
Kseniya Zonova and
Anais Emelie did not finish play at No. 3.
SEMO ended the match dropping only one point in singles action. Krupa (No. 1),
Annisa Warasanti (No. 3), Majtan (No. 4) and Emelie (No. 5) all posted, 6-0, 6-0, shutouts over their opponents. Doroshenko surrendered only one point winning, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 2 position. Torres did not finish her match at No. 6.
Southeast travels to Southern Illinois on Feb. 24.
