Southeast Missouri women's basketball (2-2) is back in Cape Girardeau after two games in Fairfax, Va. for the Preseason WNIT. The Redhawks will be facing the nearby Southern Illinois Salukis. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. at the Show Me Center. This is the 15th meeting between the two programs (10th Division I meeting), Southeast trails in the series 4-10 (3-6 Division I).

Scouting Southern Illinois
Southern Illinois is 2-1 on the season. They currently have four players averaging double digit points; Kylie Giebelhausen (15.0), Nicole Martin (14.0), Abby Brockmeyer (13.3) and Makenzie Silvey (10.7). They are coming off of a 68-56 win playing at the University of Memphis. Kylie Giebelhausen, Abby Brockmeyer and Nicole Martin each scored 14 for the Salukis. They also limited the Tigers to just 35 percent shooting from the field.

A Look at What's Ahead
After facing the Salukis, Southeast will be hosting the SEMO Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 24-25. Bradley, Evangel and Nicholls State will be the fellow teams in the tournament. The Redhawks will face Evangel on Nov. 24 and Bradley on Nov. 25. Both games will tip-off at 3:15. The other tournament games will be played at 1 p.m.

Senior guard
Ashton Luttrull recently switched to a reserve role after starting the first two games. Since coming off the bench in the last two games, she's averaged 15.0 points and 4.0 steals per game, compared to just 1.5 points per contest starting the first two games.

A Look Back at the Preseason WNITÂ
Southeast Missouri competed in the Preseason WNIT for the first time in program history. The Redhawks opened the tournament with a 80-40 loss at Louisville. Following that the Redhawks were placed into one of two consolation brackets for the Preseason WNIT, and traveled to Fairfax, Va. to finish out the tournament. The fellow teams in the Redhawks bracket are Saint Francis, Old Dominion and host school George Mason. Southeast defeated Saint Francis 82-50 in its first game, and fell to George Mason 57-38 to conclude the tournament.

Recapping George Mason
The Redhawks were defeated by George mason 57-38 to defeat George Mason. The game got off to a very slow start and featured a ton of turnovers in the first half. Southeast stayed within striking distance until late in the game when George Mason caught fire from deep, while Southeast still struggled to get anything going on the offensive end.
Ashton Luttrull led the way for the Redhawks with 12 points and five steals.Â
