Tipping Off
The Southeast Missouri women's basketball team will play its home opener at the Show Me Center on Tuesday at 11 a.m. against Missouri Valley College.

Friday's game will be streamed live and for free on the OVC Digital Network. Fans can listen to Tuesday's game live on the radio on SEMO ESPN 1220 AM with Glen Johnson and Jess Bolen. Classroom on the Court
Tuesdays game is the Redhawks are having their annual Classroom on the Court event, sponsored by United Airlines. At this game, Southeast invites local elementary schools and middle schools to participate in activities, receive educational packets and enjoy a Redhawks basketball game. They are expecting over 2,000 students at this year's game.
 
Scouting Missouri Valley
Last season Louisville finished last season 14-18, 9-7 in conference play. This season they have started out hot at 4-1, averaging just over 75 points a game. They are led by Veronika Petkova who is averaging 17.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest. Former Redhawk Hilma Mededovic is having a very solid year for them as well, posting 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds a game.
 
A Look at What's Ahead
The next competition for the Redhawks will be the second round of the Preseason WNIT. The Redhawks will be traveling to George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. for a game against Saint Francis University. That game is set for 11 a.m., CT on Nov. 16. They will also play the following day, their next opponent is based on the outcome of the first game.
 
The Redhawks Bracket
The Redhawks were placed into one of two consolation brackets for the Preseason WNIT. The fellow teams in the Redhawks bracket are Saint Francis, Old Dominion and host school George Mason. After the Redhawks battle Saint Francis, the will play the winner of Old Dominion vs. George Mason if they win, or they play loser of that game if they fall to Saint Francis.
 
Opener Recap
The Redhawks lost their season opener to the number nine ranked Louisville. Southeast got off to a rough start, and struggled to gain any ground back. Ultimately, Southeast fell 80-40 to the Cardinals. Tesia Thompson led the way for the Redhawks with 10 points and eight rebounds in her first ever regular season NCAA game.
