FULTON, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri's women's tennis team claimed victory at the William Woods Doubles Invitational Saturday.
The Redhawks won championships in two flights, and took the consolation bracket in the white flight.
In the green flight, Olekasandra Doroshenko and
Isabella Krupa teamed up as the Redhawks top duo, while
Kseniya Zonova and
Anais Emelie paired in the second flight. Each team went 2-0, winning both matches by a score of 8-5, 8-2, to advance to the championship. SEMO opted not to play the championship since it already secured the title.
Ana Canahuate-Torres and
Joanne Hollings along with
Annisa Warasanti and
Mila Majtan made up SEMO's pairings in the white flight. Torres and Hollings dropped their first match, 8-1, leading them to the consolation bracket. They would then pick up two victories to win the consolation bracket. Warasanti and Majtan ran the table, winning the championship over the University of Missouri-St. Louis by a score of 8-1.
Southeast is back in action at the UT Martin Fall Invitational on Sept. 9.
