Athletes of the Week
Jordan Barber and Chris Martin earned adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts at the Hilltopper Relays. Barber picked up Male Track Athlete of the Week honors while Martin earned Male Field Athlete of the Week.
Barber finished fifth out of 24 competitors in the 400-meter run. His time of 48.51 ranks him second in the conference this season.
Martin took first in the triple jump at the Relays. His leap of 51'5" is the top mark in the OVC this year and ranks 17th in the nation.
Nationally Ranked
Kevin Farley holds national rankings in three separate events. At the Drury Hotels Joey Haines Invitational, Farley earned two of his three OVC leading marks. His toss in shot put of 18.36m (60'3") currently ranks 28th in the nation. Also, Farley's personal record discus throw of 55.94m (183'6") is now second in school history and ranks him 29th in NCAA DI.
Earlier in the season at the Jaguar Opener, Farley had a hammer throw measuring 62.24m, which ranks 46th in the nation.
Top Conference Marks
Dylan Rush set the conference leading men's pole vault height at 4.90m (16'0.75").
Sierra Maddox has the second ranked mark in pole vault of 3.56m (11'8").
Aaliah Herron also holds second in her field event with a toss of 14.26m (46'9.5") in shot put.
In the 1500m, Marc Maton currently holds the second best time at 3:50.80.
Looking Ahead
The Redhawks move on to Atlanta, Georgia for the Georgia Tech Invitational next weekend, Apr. 22-23. Both days will begin at 11 a.m. with hammer throw on Friday and high jump on Saturday.
