Barke to be Inducted into Webster University Hall of Fame

Brady Barke, Southeast Missouri's Interim Director of Athletics, is one of five individuals who will be inducted into the Webster University Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend.

A two-sport athlete who played basketball and golf at Webster, Barke graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He was a three-time St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) All-Conference selection in basketball and was SLIAC Academic All-Conference three years as well. Barke ranks among Webster's top 10 career leaders in several categories, including points, scoring average, field goals made, 3-point field goals made, free throws made, blocked shots, games started, and minutes played. He helped the men basketball's team to advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament during the 2001-2002 season.

Barke was also part of a SLIAC Championship Webster golf team and was a national finalist for the prestigious Jostens Award his senior year. In addition to being a scholar and athlete, Barke was the national Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) rep for the SLIAC and co-President for the SLIAC SAAC. He received the Webster Athletics President's Award as a junior and both the Undergraduate Student Leadership Award and Student-Athlete of the Year Award his senior year. Barke earned a Juris Doctorate from the Southern Illinois University School of Law and an MBA from Southeast Missouri State University.

He is married to Halley Spann Barke, a current Webster Hall of Famer, and they have three children – Mabrie, Jackson and Kolbe.

Barke, along with John Cooksey (basketball), Kjersti Ehrie (cross country), Andrew Fulten (baseball) and Jessica (Kozeny) Gorsuch (soccer) form Webster's class of 2016. They will be inducted on February 20 in a ceremony on campus.
