CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Seventy-six Southeast Missouri State University student-athletes were honored on Monday at the Show Me Center in a graduation ceremony that recognized the graduates of the Spring Class of 2026. These Redhawks will receive their degrees during SEMO's commencement exercises for the Spring 2026 semester Saturday.
The Director of Academics and Student-Development Brooke Hegst opened the ceremony with some remarks prior to the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics,
Brady Barke who spoke as well.
Anna Thomason of women's track and field provided the student remarks for his fellow graduates. Johnson will graduate this weekend with a degree in Business Administration.
Sandy Hinkle was the keynote speaker for the event.
Sullivan Gleason, of track and field, was awarded the annual Jewell Award. Gleason had the highest cumulative GPA of all male student-athlete graduates in the 2025-2026 school year.
Jenny Shook, of volleyball, and Cayla Koerner, of soccer, earned the annual Trombetta Award, given to the female with the highest cumulative GPA.
The ceremony concluded with coaches and academic services staff performing an honorary sashing ceremony along with closing remarks from President Brad Hodson
