CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri women's basketball team defeated Culver-Stockton College in its lone exhibition game of the preseason on Tuesday, 83-51.

The Redhawks hit 12 3-point shots in the competition en route to the exhibition victory.
Hannah Noe guided SEMO totaling 21 points, hitting six shots from beyond the arc. Noe converted on a 3-point play in the third quarter, bringing her final tally to 21.

Including Noe, Southeast saw four players top double-digit points.
Bri Mitchell knocked down 17 points including hitting three 3-pointers.
Olivia Hackmann and
Adrianna Murphy each turned in 13 points.

Deja Jones pulled down eight total rebounds to lead the Redhawks on Tuesday. Close behind was
Hilma Mededovic and newcomer
Mandy Madden with six each. Hackmann also worked the glass, pulling in five boards. Aside from rebounding, Madden and Hackmann each had two blocked shots.

The Wildcats came out of the gates hot going up 10-0 on SEMO in the first three minutes. The Redhawks were able to hold CSC the final seven minutes to just four points while rattling off 13 to cut the lead to one at the end of the first quarter, 14-13.

Southeast used three 3-pointers in the opening quarter to help get the offense firing.

The Redhawks went on to outscore Culver-Stockton 28-11 in the second quarter to carry a commanding lead of 41-25 into halftime.

Mitchell added eight points in the second quarter to lead the team with 13 points in the first half. Hackmann and Noe each had nine in the opening half.

Culver-Stockton and Southeast Missouri played a close third quarter with SEMO barely coming out on top, 17-15. CSC used a six-point run in the second half of the quarter to pull within 11 of Southeast; however, it would be the closest they got the rest of the game.

Noe topped the double-digit point mark and moved into the leading scorer position with nine points in the third quarter and totaling 18 points.

Southeast secured the victory by putting up 25 points to Culver-Stockton's 11 in the final quarter. The Redhawks' largest lead of the game came at 33 points in the fourth quarter with 2:18 to play.

Jones came out as the leading scorer in the final 10 minutes with eight points while also adding four rebounds.

The Redhawks finished with 30 points in the paint while also picking up 30 points off turnovers.

Andrekia Thompson led Culver-Stockton with 13 total points while Carly Harper had 10 for the Wildcats. Dominique Broadus nearly recorded a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds.

Southeast Missouri will officially open the 2016-17 season Friday at home against Cincinnati at 6:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live and for free on the OVC Digital Network. The first 250 students at Friday's game will receive a women's basketball t-shirt. Additionally, in observance of Veterans Day, veterans and current military will receive free admission.Â
