
Redhawks Sweep SIUE In Dual Meet

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri track & field teams continued their season Friday against SIU-Edwardsville, with both teams being victorious. The men defeated the Cougars 77-66, while the women finished with the score 76-73.
Kayla Heidelberg and Cheyanne Tunti finished second and third in the women's 55m dash, both setting personal bests of 7.27 and 7.34.
Tunti followed later with a first place finish in the 200m dash, finishing with the time 25.62. Miya Dorsey was able to capture second with the time 25.89.
Dorsey also led the Redhawks in the 400m, finishing at the 59.46 mark and taking third.
Taylor Coffelt had the top time for the Redhawks in the 55m hurdles, posting a mark of 8.52
Sydney O'Brien captured first in the 3000m, clocking in at 10:54.24. Andrea George and Natalie Kopplin followed, taking third (11:01.24) and fourth (11:01.36).
Eilish Overby and Kaitlyn Shea finished with near identical times of 2:24.40 and 2:24.43 to earn second and third in the 800m.
In the mile run, Megan Parks finished first with a personal best time of 5:16.44. Rachel Hutchcraft also set a personal best, finishing in 5:36.27.
Sierra Maddox placed first in pole vault with a mark of 3.50m.
Sidne' Williamson and Macy Ritter captured second (5.49m) and third (5.40m) in the long jump.
N'Kia Jones triple jump leap of 11.49m earned first place.
Abi Sowash high jump measured in at 1.56m, earning a share of first place.
Aaliah Herron set a personal best in weight throw (15.13m), earning second place. Herron also placed third in shot put with a measurement of 13.47m.
The women finished the day with a 4x400m victory. Ayonna Cartwright and Chelsea Miller joined Dorsey and Tunti to post a time of 4:08.00.
For the men, Haile Wilson set the top 55m dash time, finishing second at 6.45. Zach Gordon made his Redhawks debut, closely following Wilson in third with the time 6.54. Gordon also was successful in capturing second in the long jump (7.01m).
Duncan Ross competed in the 55m hurdles, posting a time of 9.06.
Dalton Huffman took second in the high jump (1.88m) while Christopher Davis Jr. made his debut taking third (1.78m).
Jarred Pasley and Brannon Wright took first (49.36m) and second (50.97) the 400m dash. Wright also took second in the 200m dash, earning a time of 22.89.
Jordan Brown took second in the 800m (1:56.20). Cole Davis and Kameron Long took second and third, both finishing less than a full second behind Brown.
Marc Maton took first in the 3000m run with the time of 8:41.93.
James Kosbar led Southeast in the mile, earning a second place finish at 4:35.05.
Dylan Rush won men's pole vault with a height of 4.60m.
Chris Martin continued his triple jump success, earning first place with a leap of 15.38m. He was also able to claim third in the long jump measuring in at 6.97m.
Jason Walker took first in the weight throw, setting a new personal record. His toss of 17.02m topped his previous mark of 16.67m set last weekend at the Galdstein Invitational.
Stephen Zagurski also set a new personal best in weight throw, earning third place with a mark of 16.04m. Afterwards, he was able to claim second in the shot put with a toss of (14.69m).
The men's 4x400m team followed in the women's footsteps, closing the night with a victory. Barber, Pasley, and Wright were joined by Brandon Chunn to finish with a time of 3:32.67.
The Redhawks travel to South Bend, Indiana next weekend for the two-day Notre Dame Meyo Invitational.
