Southeast Missouri's men's and women's track & field teams will travel to South Bend, Indiana to participate in the two-day Meyo Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
Athlete of the Week
Ohio Valley Conference Track Athlete of the Week Jarred Pasley had an impressive effort last weekend, claiming his second first-place finish in the 400m this season. With an original finish of 49.36, his adjusted time of 48.11 claims the top spot in the OVC.
Other Conference Marks
Ayonna Cartwright's season began with first-place finishes in both of her 60m dash appearances. Currently, her time of 7.60 seconds ranks second in the OVC.
Marc Maton owns the top conference time in the mile run with an adjusted time of 4:09.27. He also holds the second-best 3000m time this year with 8:18.18.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Pasley, Jordan Barber, Brandon Chunn and Brannon Wright leads the OVC with a time of 3:14.55
In field events, Christian Locke boasts the top mark in pole vault (16'6.75"), while Chris Martin is the triple jump (50'11") leader. Martin's leap ranks him 33rd in the nation.
Jason Walker's weight throw of 55'10.25" nearly locked up the top conference distance last weekend. Walker took second by only .25" (.01m).
Kayla Gutierrez holds a commanding lead in the women's weight throw with her toss of 65'6.75". The closest mark to that in the OVC is 58'1". Her toss also places her 19th overall nationally.
Looking Ahead
The Redhawks travel to West Lafayette, Indiana next weekend to compete at Purdue University's Fred Wilt Invitational. The meet takes place at Lambert Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 13.
