NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Southeast Missouri men's and women's cross country teams each placed 12th at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic Saturday. 
The men ran an 8k race while the women's race was a 5k. 
The Redhawk men were the best of the four Ohio Valley Conference teams to place at the race. After a first-place performance in the season opener, 
Marc Maton continued his strong start to the season with a 20th-place finish in 25:21. 
Shane Brown was the next finisher for the Redhawks as he finished 46th in 25:56. 
Jaime Zarate finsihed 64th in 26:19 and 
Craig Munie, in his first race back since 2013, finished 98th in 26:49.  
Dan Plunkett turned in a 117th-place finish in 27:13 and 
Curtis Reed III finished 149th in 27:41. 
Andrew Whitener (179th, 28:47) and 
James Kosbar (190th, 29:46) rounded out the race for the men. 
Junior 
Megan Parks was the top finisher for the women on Saturday. Parks finished the 5k race in 56th in 18:08. 
Kaitlyn Shea (18:27) and 
Angela Sumner (18:28) finished very close together in 86th- and 89th-places, respectively.  
Sydney O'Brien earned a 115th-place finish in 18:47. The middle of the Redhawk pack finished close together. 
Celine Rone finished 134th in 19:06, 
Natalie Kopplin finished 142nd in 19:13, and 
Lindsey Seabaugh finished 150th in 19:18. 
Andrea George (158th, 19:25), 
Rachel Hutchcraft (173rd, 19:39), 
Anna Thomas (181st, 19:49), and 
Eilish Overby (207th, 20:48) were the final four Redhawks to round out the race. 
The women's team was second to Belmont among OVC teams in the race. 
Southeast will head to the University of Arkansas for the Chile Pepper Festival on Oct. 3.
