The Redhawks enter the weekend on a two-game winning streak after beating Saint Louis, 5-4, on Apr. 22 and Tennessee State, 12-4, on Apr. 23. Fortner, Southeast's leading hitter with a .394 batting average, needs one home run to break the school's all-time single-season record. She currently has a team-high 14 homers this year and is tied with Michelle Summers (2007). Freshman Riley Hayes has also come on strong as of late, hitting a home run in each of her last two contests. Hayes' three-run homer ignited the Redhawks come-from-behind win over the Billikens.

Pitching wise, Madeline Krumrey has worked six or more innings in 11 of her last 13 appearances. Krumrey tossed complete games 10 times during that span. She leads Southeast in victories (9), complete games (11), shutouts (1), innings pitched (133) and strikeouts (62) through 24 appearances and 19 starts.

EIU has won four of its last five games, earning series wins against each of its previous two Ohio Valley Conference foes. The Panthers took two of three against UT Martin and swept TSU. EIU is fourth in the conference with a .284 batting average.
