Happy Easter
Both of Southeast's twin bills in the Music City will be played prior to Easter Sunday. The Redhawks are 29-33 all-time in games on Easter weekend.

OVC Play
The Redhawks are looking to snap a five-game losing streak in Ohio Valley Conference play. Southeast was swept in its last two league series, falling 2-0 at Jacksonville State (Mar. 23) and 3-0 vs. SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 28-29). The Redhawks are also searching for their first series win this year.

March is Over
Southeast wrapped up the month of March with a doubleheader split at in-state foe Missouri State (Mar. 31). The Redhawks ended a season-long five-game losing skid with an 8-4 win in game one. Southeast finished its second month of the season with an overall record of 3-13 and 2-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Series History
The Redhawks are 53-10 against Tennessee State during their NCAA Division I era. Those 53 wins are the third-most Southeast has in a series versus an Ohio Valley Conference opponent since its move to Division I status in 1992. The Redhawks won eight of their last 10 meetings with the Tigers. TSU, however, swept Southeast in a doubleheader (3-1, 4-3) a year ago. Meanwhile, the Redhawks are 8-10 all-time against Belmont. Southeast and Belmont first met in 2004. The Bruins presently hold a three-game winning streak in the series.

Going the Distance
Freshman pitcher Madeline Krumrey has thrown a complete game in each of her last three starts. Krumrey recently picked up the first complete game victory of her career when she allowed four runs and struck out two in seven innings at Missouri State (Mar. 31). She leads the team with five complete games this season, three of which came in Ohio Valley Conference play.

Anderson Out
Starting right fielder Alexis Anderson missed the last three games due to a broken nose injury she sustained in game two of Southeast's doubleheader against SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 28). Anderson could be out at least four weeks. She ranked fourth on the team in batting average (.349), fourth in hits (22) and second in doubles (6) after 21 games and 19 starts this season.

Fortner is Rolling
Outfielder Kayla Fortner is on a tear in her first year at Southeast this season. Fortner enters the weekend ranked third in the Ohio Valley Conference with a .409 batting average. She is one of just three OVC players hitting over .400 this year. Fortner also leads the league in RBI (32) and stands tied for second in home runs (9). She was 13th in the nation in RBI per game (1.4) and 15th in home runs per game through games of Mar. 29. Fortner also boasts a .934 slugging percentage, good for 17th in the country.

The Chase is On
Kayla Fortner launched her team-high ninth home run of the season in game one of Southeast's doubleheader against SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 28). Fortner cleared the wall in left center with her two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning. She needs just one more round-tripper to  move into a tie for sixth among the Redhawks all-time single-season home run leaders. In addition, Fortner is on pace to break the school's single-season record, currently held by Michelle Summers (14 in 2007).

Yard Work
The Redhawks have homered in 13 games and have a total of 19 through 24 contests this year. Seven different Redhawks have hit a home run this season, including Kayla Fortner (9), Lindsey Patterson (4), Leah Duffe (2), Alexis Anderson (1), Darby Pruett (1), Savannah Carpenter (1) and Taylor McDannold (1).

Eccles Delivers
Freshman Shelby Eccles, who started three-straight games in right field for the injured Alexis Anderson, hit a triple in her first career at-bat against SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 29). Two days later, Eccles hit a double and scored her first career run at Missouri State. Her two extra base hits are second to Taylor McDannold (9) among freshmen on the team this year.

Weather Intrudes
Southeast has been limited to 24 games due to inclement weather this season. The Redhawks 24 games are the fewest any Ohio Valley Conference school has played at this point in the year. Southeast had a total of 11 cancellations in 2015. SIU Edwardsville (27) presently has more wins than the Redhawks have games played.

Extra, Extra
Of Kayla Fortner's team-high 27 hits, 13 have gone for extra bases. Fortner homered in each of her first four games of the season and leads Southeast with nine this year. She reached base in 22 of her 24 games this season and sports a team-best .529 on-base percentage.

Southeast Third in Hitting
Southeast is third in the Ohio Valley Conference with a .297 batting average through 24 games this season. The Redhawks have pounded out double-digit hits seven times, with a season-high 18 at Grambling State (Feb. 15). The Redhawks rank behind Murray State (.311) and Jacksonville State (.308).

Over .300
The Redhawks have five starters hitting over .300. Kayla Fortner leads that group with a .409 clip, while Lindsey Patterson (.385), Savannah Carpenter (.360), Alexis Anderson (.349) and Taylor McDannold (.325) follow. Fortner, Patterson, McDannold and Carpenter have started all 24 games, while Anderson has made 19 starts.

Home Run Club
Savannah Carpenter and Taylor McDannold each hit their first home runs of the season. Carpenter went 3-for-3 with a home run against SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 29). For Carpenter, it was her first home run since Apr. 30, 2014 (vs. Missouri Baptist). McDannold had her first career homer in the Redhawks victory at Missouri State (Mar. 31). Seven players have homered for Southeast this season.

Four to Go
First-year Southeast head coach Mark Redburn is closing in on 100 NCAA Division I career wins. Prior to taking over the Redhawks helm, Redburn spent five seasons as head coach at the University of Evansville. He presently has 96 victories as an NCAA Division I head coach. Redburn got his first win at Southeast when the Redhawks beat Grambling State, 11-7, on Feb. 14 at the Mardi Gras Classic in Monroe, La.

Patterson Steps Up
Lindsey Patterson saw her batting average jump 33 points over the last three games. Patterson, who started all 24 games at first base this season, hit .545 (6-for-11) with four runs scored, a home run and four RBI during that stretch. She also matched a career-high three runs scored at Missouri State (Mar. 31). Patterson raised her average from .352 to .385. She is the Redhawks second-leading hitter.

About Tennessee State
Tennessee State currently stands in last place in the Ohio Valley Conference. TSU is 9-21 overall and 2-8 in the league. Defensively, the Tigers committed 61 errors this season, most in the OVC. They are averaging just over two per game. TSU has lost nine of its last 10 contests and is led by Danica Gleason, who is hitting .347.

About Belmont
Belmont heads into the weekend at eight place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. The Bruins are last in the OVC in hitting with a .256 clip. Outfielder Kat Hollingsworth is BU's top offensive threat, hitting .351 with a league-high four triples in 25 starts. The Bruins are 9-20 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
