Final Statistics Game 2JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Southeast Missouri (5-14, 2-4) lost a doubleheader to Jacksonville State (20-7, 4-0), 10-4, 6-5, Monday afternoon at University Field.
JSU, picked second in this year's Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll, hit six home runs in its doubleheader sweep.

Whitney Gillespie gave the Gamecocks an early lead with a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning.
Savannah Sloan did the same in the third, launching a one-out three-run shot to push JSU's lead to 6-1.
Gillespie and Ella Denes then delivered back-to-back home runs with one away in the fourth before Cadi Oliver hit a two-run blast to cap the 10-4 win in the sixth.
Taylor West (6-2) pitched a complete game, striking out seven in seven innings. West also allowed 10 hits, four runs and issued four walks.
Keaira Schilling (2-7) suffered the loss. Schilling gave up seven hits and six runs in 2.1 innings.
Aubrey Denno pitched the rest of the way, allowing four hits and four runs in 3.2 frames.
Alexis Anderson and
Taylor McDannold each had two hits for Southeast which ended up with 10 in the game. The Redhawks left 10 runners on base, as well.
Jacksonville State 6, Southeast Missouri 5Sara Borders hit a two-run walkoff home run to lift Jacksonville State to a 6-5 come-from-behind win in the nightcap.
Jordan Bullock drew a leadoff walk and came around to score when Borders hit
Madeline Krumrey's 3-2 offering over the center field wall. It marked the fourth time Southeast lost in walkoff fashion this season.
The Redhawks trailed, 4-0, before battling back to take the lead in the sixth.
Kayla Fortner hit her team-high eighth home run for Southeast's first run in the fourth and
India Davis scored on a groundball out in the fifth.
An inning later,
Lindsey Patterson hit a three-run homer to give the Redhawks a 5-4 edge with two outs in the sixth. For Patterson, it was her first home run of the season.
"I was happy with how we came back in the second game," said Southeast head coach
Mark Redburn. "We knew we had a chance to start over in game two and never gave up. Right now, the biggest thing is that we are growing and have to work on tightening up the details in all phases of the game."
Krumrey (3-4) was credited with her first loss in OVC play. She tossed her second complete game, allowing six runs on eight hits in six innings. Krumrey also struck out three.
Gillespie (7-2) picked up the win in relief. She struck out two, walked two, scattered three hits and gave up three runs in 2.2 innings.
Southeast outhit JSU, 9-8, with Patterson,
Savannah Carpenter,
Meaghan Touchette and Davis each getting two hits.
The Redhawks return home to host SIU Edwardsville in a three-game series, beginning Saturday.
