MURRAY, Ky. — The Southeast Missouri cross country teams competed at the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday in Murray, Kentucky. The women's team earned a third-place finish, while the men finished seventh. 
Megan Parks completed the women's 5k race in 18:01.9 to earn Second-Team All-OVC accolades. It's the first All-OVC finish of her career. Parks was 58.1 seconds behind the leader. 
Parks paced the Redhawk women's team to its third-place finish. 
Angela Sumner narrowly missed all-conference honors with a 17th-place finish in 18:18.8. OVC Freshman of the Year 
Kaitlyn Shea placed 20th in 18:25.7. 
Sydney O'Brien rounded out the top-25 for Southeast with a 23rd-place finish in 18:29.
Lindsey Seabaugh was 36th with a time of 18:52.1. 
Celine Rone (50th, 19:20.9), 
Natalie Kopplin (54th, 19:25.6) and 
Andrea George (59th, 19:42.6) also ran for Southeast. 
The women's third-place team finish is their highest in an OVC Championship since they secured that same spot in 2011. 
Shane Brown led the Redhawk men with a 28th-place finish (26:18.2). 
Dan Plunkett took 38th-place with a time of 26:46.4, 
Jaime Zarate (26:48.9) and 
Marc Maton (26:49.8) finished back-to-back in 40th and 41st-place, respectively, and 
Curtis Reed took 54th with a time of 27:17.3.
Jace Mortimer (58th, 27:37.9), 
Andrew Whitener (69th, 28:40.4) and 
Craig Munie (73rd, 28:52.0) also participated.
The men's seventh-place finish was their lowest in the conference since finishing in that position in 1999. Prior to 2015, the Redhawks went 15-straight years placing in the top-half of the conference. Eastern Kentucky swept the men's and women's championships, marking the 24th title for the men and 29th for the women.
