Redhawks Play Host to SIUE on $2 Tuesday

About Southeast Missouri: The Redhawks are 8-11 overall and 1-5 in Ohio Valley Conference play winning a 68-66 overtime thriller on Saturday vs. Tennessee Tech Erin Bollmann recorded her team-leading fifth double-double of the season with a career-high 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds in her first career start. Jasmine Robinson added 14 points while Allyson Bradshaw scored nine points, including a perfect 6-for-6 mark from the foul line.
 
For the year, Southeast is shooting 36.7% from the field, 26.1% from 3-point range and 60.7% from the free throw line. Robinson leads offensively with 11.2 points per game and has a team-best 39 assists. Bollmann averages 7.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest, including seven double-digit scoring and eight double-digit rebounding performances. She also leads the team with 37 steals. Bradshaw averages 7.4 points per contest and has a team-leading 28 made 3-pointers. Olivia Hackmann also averages 7.4 points per game and leads the team with 16 blocks.
 
About SIU Edwardsville: The Cougars are 10-9 overall and 5-1 in OVC play. They have won five straight in conference play dating back to Jan. 3. Shronda Butts leads the team with 14.1 points per game and has a team-best 60 assists. Tierny Austin averages 13.0 points and 5.7 rebounds. Gwen Adams also scores in double figures, averaging 10.0 points and a team-high 6.6 rebounds. Micah Jones contribtues 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds.

Tough Scoring Defense: Southeast ranks second in the OVC in scoring defense by allowing only 62.2 points per game. The Redhawks lead the league in 3-point field goal defense as opponents have made only 26.4% of shots from beyond the arc. In overall field goal percentage defense, Southeast ranks fourth in the conference as opposing offenses have made just 40.0% of shots from the floor.
 
King Owns the Glass: Junior forward Connor King leads the time in rebounds with 9.1 boards per game, which ranks third in the Ohio Valley Conference. She currently sits at second in the league with 3.4 offensive rebounds per contest. King has reached double-digits in boards on 10 occassions this season, including a string of five straight from Dec. 30 - Jan. 10. She set a career-high with 14 rebounds (eight offensive) in the conference opener at Belmont on Jan. 1, besting her previous high of 13 that was set in the previous game vs. William Woods on Dec. 30, when she set also set a career-high with four blocked shots. She posted a double-double with a season-best 12 points and 12 boards vs. Morehead State on Jan. 8.
 
Bradshaw Climbing Triples Leaderboard: Senior guard Allyson Bradshaw ranks third in Southeast history with 152 made 3-pointers during her career. Julie Meier (1991-95) holds the record with 174 triples while Tarina Nixon (2005-09) ranks second with 169. Bradhsaw drained her 150th career 3-pointer early in Wednesday's contest at Jacksonville State.
 
On Dec. 14 vs. Idaho, Bradshaw drained a season-best four 3-pointers in the second half and was also a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line during the final 20 minutes in setting a new career-high with 21 points.
 
Scholar-Athletes: As a team, the Redhawks recorded a 3.3 cumulative grade point average during the 2014 fall semester.
 
Close Call at Ole Miss: The Redhawks dropped a heartbreaker by one point at Ole Miss on Nov. 25. After battling back from a 12-point deficit in the first half, Southeast took a 1-point lead with 1:11 remaining and held on to it before the Rebels inbounded the ball with 0.9 seconds left and scored on a layup at the final buzzer to win 58-57.
 
Looking Ahead: Southeast will travel to UT Martin for a 4 p.m. CT tip-off on Saturday to begin a 3-game OVC road swing. The Redhawks will play at Austin Peay at 4:30 p.m. CT on Jan. 31 and at Murray State at 5 p.m. CT on Feb. 5.
