PDF VersionNASHVILLE, Tenn. - Southeast Missouri (8-5, 2-0) dominated Tennessee State (0-4, 0-2) in a 7-0 victory Sunday morning.
The Redhawks are on a season-best four-match winning streak after recording their third shutout in four contests. Southeast improved to 19-2 all-time against TSU since 2001.
The Redhawks made light work of the Tigers with
Valeriia Kashina,
Valeriia Nagovitcina and
Ekaterina Donetckova winning in straight sets at the top three positions of the singles lineup. Kashina beat Victoria Haynes, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 1, Nagovitcina upended Trinity Randolph, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 2 and Donetckova followed with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Jade Daniels at No. 3.
Heather Robinson (No. 4) and
Annisa Warasanti (No. 5) each won by retirement and
Melissa Martin (No. 6) won by default to complete the singles sweep.
Kashina/Donetckova won their third-straight doubles match with an 8-2 win over Haynes/Randolph at No. 1. Robinson/Martin won a retired bout in the No. 2 position and Warasanti/Nagovitcina won by default at the No. 3 spot.
Southeast returns home for two matches over its spring break. The Redhawks host Morehead State on Mar. 22 and Eastern Kentucky on Mar. 23.
