Redhawks Sweep This Week's OVC Honors

The Redhawks swept the OVC weekly honors Monday
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri swept the Ohio Valley Conference honors this week with Tyler Stone winning the league's Player of the Week, Jarekious Bradley taking Newcomer of the Week and Antonius Cleveland locking up Co-Freshman of the Week.

The last time a team won all three awards in the same week was on Jan. 10, 2011. Southeast accomplished the feat then as well when Leon Powell won both Player and Newcomer of the Week honors, and Lucas Nutt was Freshman of the Week.

Stone averaged a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds per game to lead the Redhawks to a pair of wins last week. He began the week with a game-high 28 points and pulled down nine rebounds in Southeast's 87-70 victory over Jacksonville State (Feb. 20). Two days later, Stone finished with a double-double 12 points and 11 rebounds in the Redhawks thrilling 77-74 win at UT Martin. The double-double was his 11th of the season and 23rd of his career. Stone shot 57.1 percent (16-of-28) from the field and 61.5 percent (8-of-13) at the free throw line in his last two starts. He had three blocks on the week.

Bradley returned from a knee injury to score double figures in two games. He averaged 18.5 points per game and came off the bench to have a huge hand in both of Southeast's victories. Bradley scored 15 points on 7-of-14 field goals against Jacksonville State (Feb. 20) and pitched in 22 points and eight rebounds in the Redhawks win at UT Martin (Feb. 22). He made a three-pointer to tie the game at 72-72 with 48 seconds left and then sunk two free throws to give Southeast a 74-72 edge with 15 ticks on the clock. Bradley shot 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from the field and 71.4 percent (5-of-7) at the free throw line, while dishing out two assists and collecting four steals in two games.

Cleveland scored 14 points and made a half court shot at the buzzer to send Southeast to a 77-74 win over UT Martin (Feb. 22). He banked in his desperation heave after Dee Oldham made two free throws to tie the game with 4.3 seconds left. The play made the fantastic finishes segment leading into ESPN SportsCenter and came in at No. 4 on FOX Sports Live "the 1" segment's Top-5 plays Saturday. Cleveland also threw down a dunk to pull Southeast to within three and converted a big four-point play to cut the Skyhawks lead to two. He made 57.1 percent (8-of-14) of his field goal attempts and shot 2-of-3 from behind the arc in two games off the bench.

Murray State's Cameron Payne (Co-Freshman) was the only non-Southeast player to win a piece of this week's OVC awards.
