CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri cross country teams will head to Peoria, Illinois Friday to take part in the NCAA Midwest Regional. Bradley University will serve as the host school for the event.
The women's 6K begins at Noon CT with the men's 10K following at 1:00 p.m. at Newman Golf Course in Peoria.
Southeast Missouri intends on running a full women's team and a partial men's squad Friday.
The Redhawk women are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships. Rebekah Lawson earned First Team All-OVC honors with a seventh-place finish while Gloria Westlake earned Second Team accolades with a 12th-place finish.
The Redhawk men finished sixth at the OVC Championship.
Southeast Missouri ran in Peoria Oct. 17 on the same course. The women had an impressive showing with a 10th-place finish. Lawson finished the 6K in 14th with a time of 21:37. Westlake finished 20 seconds behind Lawson in 24th in 21:57.
The top two teams and top four individuals not on those squads will receive automatic spots in the NCAA Championship. At-large teams and individuals will be announced following the completion of all nine NCAA Regional championships.
