BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference announced on Tuesday a three-year deal to continue to hold its annual baseball championship at The Ballpark at Jackson in Jackson, Tenn.

The deal ensures the 2014, 2015 and 2016 championships will be held at The Ballpark at Jackson. The 2014 Championship will be held May 21-25.

"We are excited that the championship tournament will be staying at the Ballpark at Jackson," said head baseball coach Steve Bieser. "The staff there, along with the OVC, run a top-notch tournament at a great facility."

The OVC has held its baseball championship at the venue for the past four years (2010-13). The Ballpark at Jackson serves as the home of the Jackson Generals, the AA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

Following the completion of the Generals 2013 season in September, The Ballpark at Jackson will undergo an extensive renovation to its draining system along with a new playing surface. The cost of the renovations is estimated to be around $200,000.

The Redhawks kept their 19-consecutive OVC Tournament appearance steak alive last season by clinching the sixth seed. The Redhawks defeated Belmont in the first round but were knocked into the consolation bracket by top-seeded Tennessee Tech in the second. After eliminating Belmont, the Redhawks were officially knocked out of the tournament by Eastern Kentucky.
