Quick Hits
About Saint Louis – The Billikens have been off since Dec. 31, when they defeated Winthrop 62-53 to snap a three-game losing streak. SLU's starting five of Lorreal Jones, Courtney Webb, Mallory Eggert, Jacy Bradley and Desirae Ball account for nearly 90 percent of its points. Jones (12.3 points per game), Webb (11.6) and Eggert (10.7) are all averaging double-digit points while Jones leads the Billikens with 7.8 rebounds per game. Jones has missed the Billikens' last two games due to injury. SLU has held eight of its 14 opponents below 60 points, including five games holding the opposition under 50. Conversely, the Billikens have only scored 60+ points four times this year.

Last Meeting – Southeast fell to 0-2 in the 2011-12 season after going over nine minutes without scoring in a 54-45 loss at SLU. Bailie Roberts tallied a game-high 16 points, the only Redhawk in double figures. Southeast grabbed a 20-16 lead with 2:43 left in the first half before allowing the final six points of the frame to trail 22-20 at the break. That SLU run extended to 24-0 over a 9:24 span which buried Southeast into a 40-20 deficit with 13:19 remaining. Southeast pulled within eight points with five and a half minutes left, but did not get any closer than seven the rest of the way.

With a win, Southeast would…
•Win three-straight games for the first time since Jan. 29-Feb. 4, 2009.

•Win six non-conference games for the first time since the 2004-05 season (wins later vacated).

•Defeat its third non-conference opponent that it lost to last season.

•Hold its best 16-game record since the 2007-08 season (10-6).

•Surpass last season's win total.

Sideline Reunion – Southeast's game against Saint Louis is a reunion for the two head coaches. Second-year Redhawks' coach Ty Margenthaler spent five seasons as an assistant coach under current SLU head coach Lisa Stone at Wisconsin. The Badgers went 96-68, qualified for four postseason tournaments (one NCAA and three WNIT) and posted two 20- win seasons in their time together.

Offense Perks Up – Southeast's scoring has gotten going since conference play began, cracking 70+ points in consecutive wins over Austin Peay and Murray State. Saturday's 71 points against the Lady Govs was the first time the Redhawks scored 70 points since a 78-66 win on opening night against Wright State. The Redhawks' 70-58 win over the Racers gave them consecutive games scoring at least 70 points for the first time since Jan. 12-17, 2008. Southeast also shot 47.4 percent and 43.1 percent in those two wins, the first time all year the Redhawks shot better than 40 percent from the field in consecutive games.

It's Been Awhile – The Redhawks got some conference accolades on Jan. 8 as junior guard Jordan Hunter was named the OVC Player and Newcomer of the Week after averaging 20.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in a pair of conference wins over Austin Peay (Jan. 5) and Murray State (Jan. 7). The newcomer award is Hunter's second of the season, but her player of the week award is the first given to a Southeast player since Sonya Daugherty won the award on Feb. 23, 2009.

Going Streaking – Southeast defeated Austin Peay and Murray State to start the 2013 calendar year, closing the book on a dubious trend over the past few seasons. Those victories were the first consecutive wins by the Redhawks since they defeated Tennessee State and Western Michigan on Dec. 4-7, 2010.

Streaky Roberts – Senior Bailie Roberts has been Southeast's most consistent source of offense in her four seasons with the Redhawks. The Maryville, Tenn., native has scored in double figures 43 times in her career, the most among all active Southeast players. She has scored 821 career points, which is also the most among active players. However, Roberts' scoring has been streakier this season. She has scored 10 or more points in eight games this season, opening the year with two such performances, but posting only two in the eight games following. She has caught fire lately, scoring 10+ points in the last four games, including a career-high 22 points in a win over Murray State on Jan. 7. Roberts is averaging 15.5 points per game in that stretch.
