CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (1-4) dropped its home-opener to regional-rival Southern Illinois (6-1) by a score of 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at the Redhawks Tennis Complex.
Southern Illinois won five of six singles matches and posted three wins to earn the doubles point.
Southeast secured its lone point when
Heather Robinson defeated Aridna Cairo Baza, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5 singles. Robinson improved to 3-2 in dual singles competition this season.
Melissa Martin suffered her first singles loss in dual play when she dropped a 6-2, 6-3, decision in the No. 4 spot.
