Quick Hits

First Meeting
Southeast meets Oregon for the first time Sunday. The Redhawks are 0-1 all-time against Pac 12 opponents. Southeast's only matchup with a Pac 12 opponent was a 62-59 loss at Colorado to start the 1997-98 season.

Powell Eyes 500 Points
Senior Leon Powell needs just 12 points to reach 500 in his Southeast career. Powell, who missed the Redhawks season-opener at No. 25 Missouri (Nov. 11), has scored double figures in two-straight games. He is currently Southeast's top scorer with 18 points per contest. Powell has 488 points in his career.

We Meet Again
This year marks the second time Southeast will face a Dana Altman-coached team. Altman is in his second year at the Oregon helm. The last time the Redhawks squared off against Altman was when he was head coach at Creighton. Southeast lost, 89-70, in Omaha, Neb., on Dec. 29, 2002.

Rising Star
Guard Marcus Brister is quickly emerging as a strong leader of Southeast's 2011-12 club. Brister, who made just eight starts last season, has scored double-digits in each of his first three this year. He leads the Ohio Valley Conference with 5.3 assists per game after dishing out four or more in all three of his starts. Brister also ranks seventh in the league in scoring with 15.3 points per game and leads the Redhawks in minutes played with an average of 29 per contest. In addition, he has scored 10 or more points in six-straight games dating back to last season.

Red-Hot Redhawks
Southeast is shooting 51.9 percent (94-of-181) from the field through its first three games this season. The Redhawks are second in the Ohio Valley Conference in field goal percentage with that mark. Southeast and Tennessee Tech (53.8) are the only two league teams shooting over 50 percent on the young season.
