Serena Williams of Southeast Missouri track & field continued her impressive start to the 2022-23 indoor season at the John Gartland Invitational on Friday & Saturday, Jan. 20-21, as she set two personal-bests in the 60-meter dash.
The women’s 60-meter dash began with the preliminary round where Williams set her personal-best in the event with a time of 7.85 which qualified her for the 60-meter dash finals.
Williams stepped up and delivered another personal-best as she crossed the line in 7.82 breaking her record that was previously set in the preliminary round.
She placed fourth overall and led all Redhawks in the event.
