Richard Vinson, the 2018 OVC Outdoor javelin silver medalist, recorded a personal-best javelin distance of 226-7 (69.07m) to finish seventh out of 48 competitors at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminary at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California. With the top 12 finish, Vinson has advanced to the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships June 6-9 in Eugene, Oregon.
