Blake Carter started last week's NCAA West Region Prelims with a bang in the long jump. The Ohio Valley Conference champion jumped an outdoor career-best 25-4 on his first attempt. After one more jump, Carter passed on his final four tries to advance to nationals. Carter is one of three Redhawks who will make the trip to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 5-8.
