Courtney Gapelu won the shot put at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational over the weekend. The junior launched a throw of 49-5 3/4 to claim the event by nearly two feet. She also provided another point with an eighth-place finish in the discus, throwing 138-1. Through three weeks, Gapelu leads all Ohio Valley Conference throwers in the shot put, ranking 20th in the NCAA West Region with a season-high of 50-4 3/4.
