Savannah Carpenter helped the Southeast softball team for 3-1 in OVC action this weekend. The senior hit .454 (5-for-11) on the weekend including driving in six total runs in Saturday’s doubleheader sweep of Tennessee State. She drove in three in game one with an RBI fielder’s choice, a solo home run, and an RBI single in the sixth to widen the Redhawk lead to 7-2. She followed that performance up with a three-RBI game in the nightcap including a two-RBI single that put Southeast up 6-0. The win in game two was the 1,000^th in Redhawk softball history. Carpenter leads the team in slugging (.576), on base percentage (.426), and runs bated in (17) this season.
