Freshman Cayla Koerner registered two goals (four points) on four shots (3 SOG) as Southeast Missouri women's soccer went 1-0-1 this past week. She was awarded her first career OVC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday. Koerner tallied a pair of equalizers, opening the week with a beautiful left-footed rocket in the 54th minute at Little Rock on Oct. 6. She then netted the game-tying goal in SEMO’s home match with Morehead State on Oct. 9. Koerner posted a goal in the 74th minute to push SEMO’s unbeaten streak to four (2-0-2) and draw with OVC leader Morehead State. Koerner posted three shots (2 SOG) against the Eagles. Koerner leads the Redhawks with four goals (three in OVC play) in 2022 and has notched goals in three of the last four games and each of the last two. The freshman from Mahomet, Illinois, paced the Redhawks this week with two goals (four points) on four shots (3 SOG). She competed in 62 minutes in both games this week.
