Dalyn McDonald was named the Ohio Valley Conference Specialist of the Week, the league announced Sunday. A native of Gautier, Mississippi, McDonald became the first player in the OVC to return a kickoff for a touchdown this season in Southeast Missouri Football’s 35-27 win over Central Arkansas on Sept. 24. After Central Arkansas scored to cut SEMO's lead to 21-17 with 1:29 left in the second quarter, McDonald ran back the ensuing kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. His 97-yard return tied the second-longest kickoff return for a touchdown in program history, and the fifth-longest by an FCS player this season. McDonald finished with five kick returns for 182 yards and also added four punt returns and six receiving yards to tally 192 all-purpose yards against the Bears. His 343 combined kick return yards on the season ranks third nationally.
