Logan Blomquist was named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week after he captured the hammer throw title in both of Southeast Missouri track & field's meets to open the 2022 outdoor season. Blomquist captured the men's hammer title with a personal-best throw of 232-6 (70.87m) at the Rhodes College Invitational (March 18-19). The senior from Pleasant Hill, Missouri, improved on his school record of 225-2 (68.64m) set in the 2022 regular-season opener at South Alabama’s Jaguar Opener (March 4-5). Blomquist originally surpassed the record in 2019 at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship (213-5) in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He ranks second in the NCAA and second in the NCAA West Region in 2022 for hammer. Blomquist also took second in the shot put at South Alabama’s Jaguar Opener (March 4-5). He notched a mark of 56-1.75 (17.11m) to finish as the runner-up. Blomquist ranks 18th in the NCAA West Region for shot put.
