Kennedi Watkins was named the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for the second-straight week, the league announced Tuesday. Watkins paced the Redhawks newcomers with 26 points (13.0ppg) and 16 rebounds (8.0rpg) as SEMO split its pair of contests against Morehead State (Jan. 27) and SIUE (Jan. 29) this past week at the Show Me Center. Watkins opened the week with 12 points and nine rebounds in SEMO's win over Morehead State on Jan. 27. She shot 39 percent with four steals, two assists and a block. The Ballwin, Missouri, forward closed the week with a career-best matching 14 points to go along with seven rebounds Jan. 29 against SIUE. Watkins extended her streak of scoring in double figures to six-straight games with her third 14-point total in 2021-22. She shot 50 percent from the field and grabbed a pair of steals against the Cougars.

Watson also totaled six steals and two assists over the two games last week.

The weekly honor marks the second for Watkins in her career at SEMO.
