Donald Hatfield Jackson was awarded Ohio Valley Conference Men's Athlete of the Championship at the conclusion of the 2021 OVC Outdoor Track & Field Championship Saturday after he won a pair of Gold medals along with a Silver over the three-day Championship. Hatfield Jackson won Gold in the long jump with a mark of 25-2.50 (7.68m) in his first attempt Thursday. He is the first SEMO athlete to win the Outdoor Championship since Blake Carter topped the field event in 2013 with 25-0.75. Hatfield Jackson captured the 2021 OVC high jump crown with a SEMO program-best and PR mark of 7-1.75 (2.18m) on his third and final attempt at the height. Hatfield Jackson surpassed Jim Lohr's record of 7-1.25 set in 1984. On Saturday, Hatfield Jackson grabbed Silver in the men's triple jump. He posted a personal-best feat of 48-9.50 (14.87m) for second overall. Hatfield Jackson ranks 11th in the NCAA West Region for long jump, 12th for high jump and 71st for triple jump.
