A native of Danville, Illinois, Dylan Dodd allowed just two hits and struck out eight in a combined 12-0 shutout of Belmont (Apr. 30). He gave up just one walk to the first hitter he faced of the game and improved to 5-1 this season. Dodd retired 20 of 22 hitters, allowing only a single in the fourth inning and a double in the seventh. He has recorded eight or more strikeouts in nine of his 10 starts this season. The senior left-hander was named Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week Monday. Dodd ranks first in the OVC in innings pitched (6.3) and strikeouts (7.9) per game. He is second among league leaders in both ERA (2.84) and opponent batting average (.221), and third in wins (5).
