Vivian Lai was a perfect 2-0 at no. 5 singles this weekend for Southeast Missouri women’s tennis at the 2021 Ohio Valley Conference Tennis Championship in Evansville, Indiana. Lai defeated Jacksonville State’s Sara Jamal, 6-0, 6-2, on Saturday in the Semifinals as SEMO edged JSU, 4-1. The sophomore from Taipei, Taiwan, then defeated Austin Peay’s Martina Paladini-Jennings, 6-2, 6-3, for her 12th consecutive win in 2021 on Sunday. Lai finished the season with a 16-3 (7-0 OVC) mark and was 9-0 against OVC foes this season.
