Kaitlyn Shea set a new Redhawks 3,000 meter steeplechase record at the 2021 Ole Miss Classic Saturday at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex. For the second straight week, Shea etched her name in the top spot of the SEMO record books. After setting the 5,000 meters record (16:27.27) March 20 at the Bill Cornell Spring Classic, the senior from Jefferson City, Missouri, took first in the 3,000 meter steeplechase Saturday with a career-best time of 10:34.88. The mark surpassed Juli Koenegstein's time of 10:34.98 set in 2009.
