Daniel Santacaterina put together another big performance, this time pulling off some late game heroics to lead Southeast Missouri to a 31-27 come-from-behind win over Austin Peay. Santacaterina completed 19-of-37 passes for 344 and three touchdowns. In the second half alone, Santacaterina completed 13-of-19 passes for 256 yards and threw all three of his touchdown passes, including two in the fourth quarter. He threw a 19-yard pass to Austin Crump to give the Redhawks their first lead of the game with 13:55 left. Santacaterina then threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Zack Smith (7:30) and later converted a fourth-and-14 with a 37-yard completion to Jerrick Orr which set up SEMO’s game-winning score. He became the first SEMO quarterback to throw for over 300 yards in consecutive starts in 14 years (Andrew Goodenough, 304 at Central Michigan; 327 vs. Samford). In addition, Santacaterina moved into a tie for ninth in most touchdown passes in a season (14) at SEMO.
