Denzel Mahoney continued his climb to 1,000 career points by averaging 25 per game in two contests last week. Mahoney shot 40.9 percent from the field to go along with his averages of 25 points and 6.5 rebounds. He scored 30 points on 11-of-26 field goals and a near-perfect 6-of-7 free throws, and grabbed eight rebounds against Murray State (Feb. 1). Mahoney followed that up with 20 points and five rebounds two days later against Austin Peay (Feb. 3). He needs just nine points to reach 1,000 in his two-year career.
