Backup running back Brendan Stewart finished with 40 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries against Shorter University (Sept. 26). A native of Carlinville, Illinois, Stewart scored his first career TD on an 8-yard run with 10:09 left to play in the second quarter and added a 5-yard touchdown run with four minutes remaining in the third quarter. He narrowed Shorter’s lead to seven points on both of his scores.
