Redhawks Sweep OVC Honors

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri sophomore Tegan Livesay was named Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of Week and infielder Brooklyn Saysoff was tabbed the league's Player of the Week Monday.
SEMO swept the OVC weekly honors for the first time this season.
A native of Newton, Kansas, Livesay pitched the first shutout of her career with a masterful performance in game two of SEMO's doubleheader at Lindenwood (Apr. 6). She allowed just four hits and recorded a career-high seven strikeouts in seven innings. Livesay also walked one and retired the Lions in order during each of the first, second and sixth frames.
She improved to 4-2 this season and became the third Redhawk pitcher to throw a shutout in 2025.
Saysoff, who hails from Blue Springs, Missouri, extended her hitting streak to five games when she hit .800 in two games against LU. She went 4-for-5 at the plate with two runs, a pair of doubles, two RBI and one stolen base. Saysoff walked twice in the doubleheader, as well. She scored SEMO's only run in game one and then went 3-for-3 with a double, run scored, two RBI, a stolen base and one walk in the nightcap. Saysoff's two-RBI single opened up a five-run fifth inning for the Redhawks in game two.
The weekly honors mark the first for both Livesay and Saysoff in their careers.
