INDIANAPOLIS, Ind - Southeast Missouri women's track and field won the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championship Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025 as day two of the championship concluded in Indianapolis. The Redhawks finished with seven gold medal performances, 15 new personal bests, and 38 top ten performances with 19 being podium finishes.
The women finished with 163 total points beating Little Rock in second with 128.5 points.
The men's team finished in second with 160.5 points only behind Little Rock with 183 points.
Specialty Awards
Breanna Miles claimed Female Track Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row.
Paden Lewis won Male Field Athlete of the Year and Co-Male Athlete of the Championship honors.
Anna Thomason tabbed Co-Female Field Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Championship honors.
Head coach
Eric Crumpecker won his fourth Indoor Women's Coach of the Year award.
Gold Medal Marks
Thomason crossed the line at 8.48 to break her own 60m hurdle record which she set earlier in the year. Thomason also claimed the event title to be called OVC champion. The junior also claimed the crown in the pentathlon by tallying 3626 total points during the event.
Brianna Dixon repeated as OVC Champion in the high jump by clearing a height of 5' 8.75" while also breaking the SEMO indoor high jump record set by Angela James in 1991 with a height of 5' 7.25".
Erika Mellor is wearing the gold after winning the 800m dash while achieving a new personal best.
Lewis went two for two in his events at the championship after throwing for a gold medal mark of 61' 2" in the shot put.
Sullivan Gleason is wearing the pole vault ring after clearing a new personal best height of 16' 8".
The women's 4x400m team of Miles,
Sydney Burdine,
Alaina Lester, and
Laila Hardin earned OVC champion title after finishing the team race in 3:48.82.
Podium FinishesÂ
Marcus Gordon grabs the silver medal in the men's 60m hurdles with a personal record time of 8.16.
Kenyon Johnson jumps three times for a second place distance of 50' 3.25" in the men's triple jump.
Molly Grohmann jumps over a 5' 6" bar in the high jump to wear silver on the podium.
Burdine raced around the track for 400m, finishing with a time of 55.83 for the silver medal.
Dixon finished right behind her teammate in the 60m hurdle to take silver back home with a new PR time of 8.57.
Cole Reinders crosses the finish line during the 800m to take home the bronze with a time of 1:52.65.
In the women's 200m dash Miles chalked up a silver medal time of 24.16.
In his first ever heptathlon
Luis Schadlich tallied 5177 total points, good enough for silver.
Nick Cimmarusti crossed the line at 8:23.62 to wear the bronze on the podium in the 3000m race.
The Redhawks swept the shot put podium after
Quinton Maxwell and
Clay Alewelt achieved marks of 54' 10" (PR) and 52' 11.5" for second and third.
Tanner Koontz cleared a silver medal height of 16' 4" in the pole vault.
Noteworthy Redhawks
Reinders clocks in at 4:15.73 to take sixth in the men's mile.
In the women's mile
Lauren Eftink placed fifth (5:05.54) with a new PR,
Layla Fliege took sixth (5:09.33), and
Mattea Pearsall finished in ninth (5:14.77).
With distances of 42' 2.25" , 41' 6", and 41' 2.5"
Andreese Ortiz placed fifth,
Bailie Hux posted a seventh place finish, and
Makenzie Williams finished in ninth in the women's shot put.
Cole Bruenderman and
Aarion Jackson posted distances of 47' 10.5" (PR) and 46' 2" for fourth and eighth
Hardin recorded a time of 56.84 for fifth in the women's 400m dash.
Clara Billing raced to a personal best time of 8.72 in the 60m hurdles to notch fifth place.
Lester ran the 60m dash in 7.76 for sixth which tied her personal best.
Mattea Pearsall timed in at 2:26.58 in the 800m dash for eighth.
With a time of 25.30 Burdine placed eighth in the women's 200m race.
Jake Casey tacked on 4617 points worth in the heptathlon for a new PR and a fifth place finish.
Grohmann jumped three times for a distance of 37' 4.5" to finish in ninth.
Noah Little raced the 3000m in 8:26.61 for fifth in the event.
Josiah Kilgore recorded a mark of 40' 5" in the shot put for ninth.
Kendall Holweg finished the pentathlon with    2889 total points for sixth place.
Colin Beers reached a height of 16' 0" in the pole vault to end in fourth place.
The men's 4x400m squad of
Louis Primeau, Reinders,
Justin Splitt,
Tyler Anderson ended with a time of 3:20.99 for fourth.
Multis Day Two
Thomason won the 60m hurdles after crossing the line at 8.55.
In the men's 60m hurdles Schadlich and Casey both achieved new personal bests with times of 8.60 (2nd) and 9.04 (8th).
In the high jump Thomason cleared a height of 5' 3.75" for second, and Gudde and Holweg cleared a height of 4' 9.75" for seventh and eighth.
During the pole vault Schadlich cleared a height of 13' 5.25" for fifth and Casey notched a height of 11' 9.75" for sixth.
Gudde, Thomason, and Holweg posted marks of 35' 2" (2nd), 34' 2" (4th, PR), and 30' 10.25" (6th, PR) in the shot put.
Ending times of 2:43.51 (PR) and 3:09.59 saw Schadlich place second and Casey place eighth in the 1000m.
In the 800-meter Thomason clocked in at 2:38.96 (3rd) and Holweg ended with a time of 2:54.03 (8th).
