Redhawks Finish Don DeNoon Invite with Five First Place Finishes

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southeast Missouri track and field finished the Don Denoon Invite with 22 top three finishes with six being first place finishes and eight new personal records.

Ahead of All Others
In the women's pole vault Charlie Ham vaulted over a height of 11' 5.75" to take the trophy.

Byron Sowerby took home gold in the men's mile with a time of 4:20.08.

Aarion Jackson set a new personal record jump of 47' 3" in the triple jump to earn first place.

Both 4x400m squads finished atop the podium with times of 4:11.53 (women's), and 3:23.31 (men's).

Lexie Dockstader won the women's 3000m while setting a new personal best with a time of 10:12.75.

Near the Top
Makenzie Williams took home a silver medal in women's weight throw with a mark of 61' 0.25" .
 
In the men's weight throw Clay Alewelt claimed second place with a distance of 61'. 

Tayler Gudde earned a bronze medal in the women's long jump with a distance of 17' 2".

Skylar Prescott clears a height of 11' 5.75" in the pole vault for the bronze medal.

Kenyon Johnson jumped to a mark of 23' 2.50" for third in the men's long jump.

Alewelt threw for a mark of 52' 1.25" (2nd) and Quinton Maxwell threw for a mark of 51' 10" (3rd)

Evan Fuller posted a time of 4:21.84 in the men's mile to take home second place.

Cole Bruenderman jumped 44' 7.5" to earn third in the triple jump.

John Hartmann cleared a height of 6' 7.5" to set a new personal best and take second in the high jump.

Mattea Pearsall took third with a 2:21.04 in the women's 800m, setting a new personal record.

In the men's 800m Tyler Anderson finished second with new personal best of 1:55.41 and
Justin Splitt finished third with a time of 1:56.12.

Jackson took second with a new personal best of 47' 3" in the triple jump.

Anna Thomason cleared a height of 5' 3" to take home the silver in the women's high jump.

Brooklyn Bender  earned a silver medal and set a new personal best in the women's 300m with a time of 10:22.72.

Notable Performances
Andreese Ortiz earned sixth place with a distance of 47' 11.25" in women's weight throw.

Maxwell set a new personal record and took fourth in the men's weight throw with a distance of 52' 11.50". Josiah Kilgore threw for a distance of 49' 5.75" and placed fifth in the competition.

Krysta Miller jumped a distance of 16' 5" in the women's long jump, which placed her seventh.

In the women's shot put Ortiz threw a distance of 42' 6.75" to earn fourth place and Williams earned seventh place with a distance of 40' 8.75".

Jake Casey, and Jacob Miller recorded distances  21' 4.25" (fourth) and 20' 9.75" (fifth) in the men's long jump.

Kilgore heaved the shot put for a final distance of 41' 3" in his first ever shot put event.

Kendall Holweg and Gudde crossed the line at 9.84 and 10.06 for seventh and eighth in the women's 60m hurdles

In the women's mile Kayla Vogelsang clocked in at 5:17.38 (fifth), Alayna Sparr finished with a time of 5:26.32 (eighth), and Haley Smith crossed the line at 5:30.29 for tenth.

In the men's mile Cade McCadams earned fourth with a time of 4:26.42 while setting a new personal record. Sam Rinehart (4:30.51) and Jacob Blassingame (4:33.99) both notched fifth and sixth respectively.

Marcus Gordon finished with a time of 8.44 in the men's 60m hurdles to take fourth place.

In the women's 800m Lauren Eftink took fourth (2:21.70), Layla Fliege took fifth (2:23.59), and Vogelsang took eighth (2:28.25).

In the men's 800m Louis Primeau finished fourth (1:56.89), Micah Grawer took fifth (1:56.92), Trey Mygatt finished sixth (1:58.68), Sowerby finished eighth (2:01.27), and Rinehart finished in ninth (2:03.37).

Bruenderman jumped three times for a distance of 44' 8.25" in the triple jump.

Holweg cleared a height of 4' 11" to finish fifth in the women's high jump.

In the women's 3000m Cordelia Hoover took fifth (10:39.13), Sparr took sixth (10:55.53, PR), and Smith took ninth with a time of 11:28.50.

In the men's 3000m McCadams took fifth with a time of 9:24.77.

Looking Ahead
The Redhawks are back at home for the final indoor meet of the season before the OVC championships. The Redhawks Open will be held February 21st at the SEMO Recreation Center.
