CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Women's Soccer has announced the full schedule for the 2024 season, the program announced on Friday afternoon.
The 2024 season is the 26
th season for head coach
Heather Nelson, and the 26
th season of SEMO Soccer. SEMO is coming off a 7-6-6 campaign in 2023 which saw the squad advance to the Ohio Valley Conference semifinal round, losing to #2 Morehead State; 1-0.
SEMO will return 19 players from the 2023 team and will feature three new freshman. All-OVC selection(s)
Cayla Koerner,
Sophia Elfrink, and
Justi Nelson will all return to help lead the Redhawks.
Home Slate
SEMO will play nine home matches at Houck Stadium during the 2024 campaign, the program's 26
thseason, beginning with four-straight home matches to start the year.
The season will commence on Thursday, August 15, with a home match against Missouri-St. Louis at 6 p.m. Matches with Murray State (Aug. 18) and Southern Illinois (Aug. 22) continue the homestand which will wrap-up with a Sunday afternoon contest against Indiana State (Sept. 1) at 1 p.m.
SEMO will return home to begin Ohio Valley Conference play against Southern Indiana on Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.
Western Illinois (Sept. 29) and Lindenwood (Oct. 6) will be next for the Redhawks. The home slate will wrap-up with matches against SIUE (Oct. 17) and Morehead State (Oct. 20) with just one game to go prior to the postseason.

Road Games
SEMO will open the road portion of the schedule with a trip to Southeastern Conference member and in-state foe, Missouri, on Sunday, September 8 with a 7 p.m. kickoff in Columbia, Mo.
The road game marks the first of three-straight road trips as the Redhawks will travel to the Sunshine State for a matchup with Florida International (Sept. 12) and Florida Atlantic (Sept. 15) in Miami and Boca Raton, Fla., respectively.
The Redhawks will play one OVC match prior to taking on Tennessee Tech for the first conference road match of the season on Sunday, Sept. 29 (1 p.m.).
A trip to Eastern Illinois (Oct. 3) and Little Rock (Oct. 13) before the season finale at UT Martin (Oct. 27) will be the final three road contests of the season before the conference tournament begins.
