CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball has announced three more signings to the 2024-25 class, head coach Briley Palmer announced on Tuesday morning.
Skylar Barnes, Anjelicia Del Valle, and Madison Roberts will add to Palmer's first roster in charge of the program.
Skylar Barnes
A 5-9 guard from St. Louis, Mo., Skylar Barnes is a senior transfer from Morehead State University where she spent the 2023-24 season with the Eagles.
Prior to MSU, Barnes played two seasons at junior college, Blinn College, for head coach Jeff Jenkins. In her final season at Blinn, her team finished 31-4 including an 18-game winning streak during the 2022-23 season.
Barnes helped Blinn reach just their second NJCAA Women's Basketball Championship round appearance in school history, averaging 9.5 points and 3.8 rebounds for head coach Jeff Jenkins. She was named to the All-Tournament Team in both 2022 & 2023.
Last season for Ohio Valley Conference rival, Morehead State, Barnes played in 29 games while making five starts for the Eagles. She averaged 15.5 minutes-per-game. She averaged 5.0 PPG and 2.9 rebounds-per-game. She scored a career-high 26 points against Tennessee State a season-ago.
The daughter of Van and Wydonna Barnes, Skylar intends to major in General Studies at Southeast.
Anjelicia Del Valle
A native of Portage, Indiana, Ajelicia Del Valle comes to Southeast Missouri by way of Moberly Area Community College after spending last season with the Greyhounds.
Del Valle played in 29 games for MACC, making 22 starts in just one season. She finished the year with an impressive 38.6-percent shooting clip from the field (110-285).
As a guard, she averaged nearly 3.0 rebounds per game (2.8) and dished out over an assist a contest as well (1.3) to the tune of 80 total rebounds and 38 assists in her first year.
In high school, Del Valle graduated from Portage High School in 2023 where she started all four seasons for head coach Jovanny Gonzalez.
The daughter of Primo Del Valle and Heather Romo, Anjelicia is currently majoring in Business and is interested in becoming an Esthetician in her future.
Madison Roberts
The daughter of Malcolm and Deirdra Roberts, Madison Roberts is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and has spent the last two seasons at Seminole State College and will transfer to Southeast Missouri for the 2024-25 season.
During her two seasons, Roberts has played in 54 games and has made 40 starts for the Trojans.
Roberts shot 37.3-percent from the field (75-201) and was an impressive 50-percent from three-point range (10-20). She also was an impressive 75-percent free-throw shooter (54-72) as she scored 214 points in her career for an 8.2 points-per-game average.
In the paint, Roberts hauled in 169 total rebounds including 103 on the defensive end and 66 on the offensive end.
Madison graduated from Classen School of Advanced Studies in 2021. She started all four seasons for head coach Jim Perinovic.
