Rickermann Earns NFCA First-Team All-Mideast Region Honors

Southeast Missouri senior second baseman Abigail Rickermann was named to the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Mideast Region Team Saturday.

Rickermann, who hails from Festus, Missouri, claimed first-team honors. She was also a Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection this season.

She is hitting a team-high .373 through 48 games and 37 starts. Rickermann ranks second on the team with 11 stolen bases and has accumulated 25 runs, 44 hits, five doubles 10 RBI and 13 walks. She leads the team with a .444 on-base percentage, as well.

Rickermann is the third First-Team All-Region pick under Head Coach Mark Redburn joining Rachel Anderson (2019) and Ashley Ellis (2019).

The NFCA announced 376 student-athletes from 160 programs have received 2024 NFCA Division I All-Region accolades.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes (eight maximum) and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2024 NFCA Division I All-America squads.

The Southeastern Conference's 44 selections led the way, followed closely by the Pac-12 Conference with 37. The Big Ten Conference (35), Atlantic Coast Conference (32) and Big 12 Conference (32) rounded out the top five leagues. The Sun Belt Conference (19), Mountain West Conference (16), Coastal Athletic Association (13), Mid-American Conference (14) and American Athletic Conference (12) rounded out the top 10.

Also hitting the double-figure mark were Conference USA (11), Patriot League (11), BIG EAST Conference (10) and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (10). All 32 NCAA Division I conferences were represented.
