MURRAY, Ky. – Former Ohio Valley Conference member Murray State (21-26) scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to get by Southeast Missouri (21-22), 6-3, Tuesday.
 
Tied, 3-3, MSU used a two-RBI single by Summer Ray to get ahead and tacked on another run when a play at the plate was overturned. Ray was initially called out, but later ruled safe following a replay review.
 
Both teams combined for only three hits in the first three innings of play before SEMO took the game's first lead with three runs in the top of the fourth.
 
Kentucky native Sydney Melton began the fourth inning with a single up the middle and Tori Bradley moved her to second on a base hit to center. With one out, freshman Gracie Luna crushed the first pitch of her at-bat over the left field wall putting the Redhawks up, 3-0. For Luna, it was her second home run of the season.
 
MSU started its comeback when it pieced together three-straight hits to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.
 
Calista Collins singled up the middle, went to second on a passed ball and scored on a base hit by Erin Lackey. On the next play, Bailey Broemmer hit a two-run home run to knot things up at 3-3. SEMO went 25-consecutive innings without allowing a run before the Racers ended that stretch in the fifth.
 
Freshmen Tegan Livesay and Willow Van Haren were strong each tossing two scoreless innings. Livesay, in her 13th start, worked two innings allowing just one hit before Van Haren struck out three and did not give up a hit over the next two frames.
 
Van Haren was relieved by Delaney Kell who gave up three runs on three hits in the fifth. Then, Maddie Carney (5-5), who was credited with the loss, allowed three runs, two hits, walked two and struck out one in the sixth.
 
Six different Redhawks, including Sophie Schupp, Paige Halliwill, Melton, Kat Sackett, Bradley and Luna had a hit.
 
The Redhawks play host to Western Illinois in their final home series on Apr. 27-28.
