Redhawks Face In-State Foe Lindenwood
Southeast Missouri (18-21, 12-6) hosts in-state foe Lindenwood (24-16, 12-6) this weekend. SEMO and LU will play a three-game series with a 3 p.m. doubleheader Saturday and 12 p.m., CT matchup Sunday.

Series History
Southeast Missouri is 3-0 all-time against Lindenwood, which is in its second year as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference. SEMO swept the Lions in St. Charles a year ago. The Redhawks outscored LU, 26-7, in that series.
Awesome April
The Redhawks are 6-1 overall and 5-1 in Ohio Valley Conference play so far this month. Southeast Missouri is hitting .335 and outscoring its opponents by a +33 margin (55-22) in April.
OVC Update
Missouri schools Southeast Missouri and Lindenwood are locked in a tie for second in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with identical 12-6 records. The Lions are on a 10-game winning streak as the league's hottest team entering the weekend. LU has won nine-straight OVC contests, as well. Eastern Illinois (14-4) remains atop the conference and is approaching 30 wins with its overall record of 28-12.
Program Record
The Redhawks recently broke a program record for most runs in a series when they put up 37 in three games at Morehead State (Apr. 14-15). Southeast Missouri outscored MSU, 37-8, in its series sweep. SEMO scored double-digit runs in all three of those contests. The previous record was 30 runs vs. Tennessee Tech (2023) and at Tennessee State (2002).
Series Sweep
Southeast Missouri posted its second series sweep of the season when it beat Morehead State (Apr. 14-15) by scores of 10-1, 14-4 and 13-3. SEMO also swept SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 16-17) with 3-0, 3-2 and 7-4 wins. Both of those sweeps were on the road. The Redhawks have a total of 34 series sweeps in conference play under Head Coach Mark Redburn.
Halliwill Named OVC Co-Player of the Week
Outfielder Paige Halliwill was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Player of the Week on Apr. 15. A native of Mogadore, Ohio, Halliwill hit .571 with four hits in seven at-bats in a doubleheader at Morehead State (Apr. 14). She finished the twin bill by going 4-for-4 with three runs scored, two home runs and three RBI in game two. Halliwill boasted a 1.429 slugging percentage, as well. For the series, she hit .700 (7-of-10) with seven runs, five RBI, two stolen bases, a 1.300 slugging percentage and .750 on-base percentage.
Series Wins
The Redhawks earned their fourth series win when they swept Morehead State (Apr. 14-15). Southeast Missouri took two of three against Tennessee Tech (Apr. 6-7) and Tennessee State (Mar. 23-24), and swept SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 16-17) for its other series wins this year.
Top Scoring Team in OVC Play
Southeast Missouri leads the Ohio Valley Conference in runs scored against league foes this season. SEMO has scored 110 runs for an average of 6.1 per game through 18 OVC contests. The Redhawks own a +53 scoring margin (110-57) in conference action.
OVC Strong
The Redhawks lead the Ohio Valley Conference in batting average (.323), slugging percentage (.451), on-base percentage (.397), runs (110), hits (170), RBI (98), doubles (32), total bases (237), walks (63) and fielding double plays (7) in league games this season. Southeast Missouri's 12 OVC wins are tied for second-most in the conference.
Grand Slam for Luna
Freshman Gracie Luna's first career home run was a grand slam at Morehead State (Apr. 14). Luna hit her grand slam in her only at-bat of that game. She became the sixth Redhawk to hit a home run this season.
Halliwill Heats Up
Paige Halliwill hit safely in five of her last six games and enters the weekend after going 7-for-7 with five runs scored, two home runs and five RBI in her last two starts. Halliwill scored a run in six-straight contests and scored nine times in her last four games alone. She leads the team with 28 runs scored through 39 games.
10th Win for Holman
Paytience Holman picked up her 10th win of the season when she beat Morehead State (Apr. 15). Holman allowed just one run on four hits and struck out two in four innings. She is 10-8 in the circle this year with 10 wins in a season for the first time in her career. Holman won a total of 31 games as a Redhawk.
Gaining Momentum
Southeast Missouri has won nine of its last 13 games and is 6-1 thus far in April. SEMO posted series wins against Tennessee State (Mar. 23-24) and Tennessee Tech (Apr. 6-7), beat Southern Indiana (Apr. 29) once, upset #11 Missouri (Apr. 3) and swept Morehead State (Apr. 14-15) for its victories in that stretch.
Affolter Playing Well
Brittany Affolter has hit safely in 10 of her last 11 games. Affolter posted multiple hits three times during that span. She increased her batting average by 85 points from .217 to .302 since Mar. 24. Affolter also had the biggest hit of her career when she delivered a two-out RBI-double to score the only run of the game in Southeast Missouri's 1-0 victory over #11 Missouri (Apr. 3).
Rickermann On a Roll
Abigail Rickermann hit safely in 14 of her last 17 games and had multiple hits six times during that stretch. She tied a career-high three hits vs. Tennessee Tech (Apr. 6). Rickermann leads the Redhawks with a .372 batting average and .437 on-base percentage.
Close to 100 Hits
Abigail Rickermann is five hits away from reaching 100 in her career. Rickermann has 95 hits in 157 games and 83 starts in her career.
Double-Digit Hits
Southeast Missouri pounded out 10 or more hits in four of its last five games. SEMO finished with double-digit hits a total of nine times this season. The Redhawks had a season-high 14 hits vs. Tennessee State (Mar. 23) and at Morehead State (Apr. 14).
Peek Power
Catcher Marissa Peek leads the Ohio Valley Conference in slugging percentage and home runs in conference games. Peek has a .872 slugging percentage and all five of her home runs against league opponents.
Over .400
Three Redhawks, including Paige Halliwill Aubrie Shore and Abigail Rickermann are hitting over .400 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Halliwill is hitting .436, while Shore and Rickermann are hitting .407 and .404, respectively. All three are among the top 10 hitters in the conference in league games. Halliwill ranks second, Shore is fourth and Rickermann is sixth.
Season-High in Runs
Southeast Missouri established a new season-high when it scored 14 runs in a 14-4 win over Morehead State (Apr. 14). SEMO scored double-digit runs in four of its last five games.
.300 Hitters
Five Redhawks are hitting over .300 through 39 games this season. Abigail Rickermann leads the way with a .372 average. Tori Bradley (.350), Aubrie Shore (.342), Paige Halliwill (.321) and Brittany Affolter (.302) are the others.
