SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (3-5) claimed its second-straight shutout with a dominating 5-0 victory over UL Monroe (1-3) Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
SEMO set the tone by winning the doubles point with its No. 1 tandem of
Daniela Hlacikova and
Juliette Talieu beating Alic Klinteby and Mackenzie King, 6-3.
Maja Bajorek and
Lera Valeeva locked down the point with a 6-2 win over Angela Del Campo Suarez at the No. 3 position.
Four straight-set singles victories polished off the shutout for the Redhawks.
At No. 2, Hlacikova cruised to a, 6-2, 6-0, win over Campo Suarez and Talieu beat Pereira, 6-1, 6-0. Bajorek and Valeeva defeated their opponents at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively. Bajorek upended Tamara Bachmann, 6-4, 6-3, and Valeeva won, 6-3, 6-1, over Raquel Alvaro.
