BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Sophomore Defensive Specialist/Libero
Nina Schuberth was selected as this week's Ohio Valley Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Schuberth, a native of Yorkville, Illinois, recorded 63 digs in two matches last week against Lindenwood. She notched 30 in Thursday's match before recording a team-high 33 in Friday's 3-2 victory over the Lions.
She averaged 7.00 digs-per-set in the two matches and recorded a near perfect .958 reception percentage on Friday night.
She is now on an impressive 18-match streak of double-digit digs beginning on September 21 against Southern Illinois where she dug 22 balls in a five-set match against the Salukis. She has recorded 30+ digs in four matches this season, including a season-high 39 against Morehead State (10/19).
The award marks the fourth of the season for Schuberth.
Looking Ahead
SEMO Volleyball will conclude the regular season with a pair of matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 19-20, as they play host to SIUE. First serve is slated for Tuesday night at 6 p.m., inside Houck Field House.
